Serving businesses with purpose and integrity

CCR’s history continues to guide how we operate today. Our founders wanted to create a company that not only served critical business needs through technology, but also was committed to a lasting set of values that would continually guide how we serve our clients, no matter how our services evolve.

1980s: Serving local tech needs

CCR was founded by three brothers in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1986. Service built on integrity and transparency were the foundation of the business, which meant treating both clients and team members like family. These principles centered around values of excellent service, practical and honest recommendations, and a family-first culture. What started as a computer rental company soon grew into appliance and electronics support services and network administration.

1990s: Expanding our impact nationally with Internet growth

When the Internet started to impact consumers in the mid-1990s, CCR became an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP). We developed our capabilities in access-point installation and wireless networking, first with residential customers in RV parks. As our expertise grew, we transitioned to serving more complex needs for hotels, fast-food restaurants, and truck stops. We also focused on the local Cedar Rapids area business community by offering managed IT services after acquiring Cramer IT, another local company.

2000s-today: Evolving for future business technology needs

CCR’s growth in ISP and networking capabilities in the mid-1990s and 2000s opened the door for our first media colocation infrastructure clients in the broadcast industry in 2012. This lead to our first global expansion. From 2012 onward, we broadened our offerings into our current portfolio of services: Connectivity Services for construction, colocation, hard-to-reach locations, and Managed IT Services. Our rapid growth earned us recognition as an Inc 5000 Fastest Growing Company and a national Great Place to Work, among other accolades.

Though CCR has experienced immense growth over the past few decades, family values remain at the core of what we do, how we serve, and what we believe.
